We’re Jenni & Alan
Jenni has over a decade of gardening experience on the Island, with a passion for plants and propagation. Alan, a former Royal Marine, discovered a new calling in horticulture and hasn't looked back since.
Together, we work in gardens across the Isle of Wight, so we know what truly thrives here - from wind-whipped coastal beds to shady woodland corners. Plants by the Green Standard grew from our desire to offer hardy, beautiful, and useful plants that genuinely perform in real-world gardens.
Everything we grow has been propagated by us, right here on site - from seed, cuttings or careful division. This hands on approach means we know every plant from its earliest stages, ensuring strong healthy stock that's well adapted to our conditions. It also reduces our environmental footprint by cutting down on transport and packaging and helps keep our selection rooted in sustainability, seasonality and local relevance. When you buy plants from us, you're getting plants grown with care and intention - not shipped in, but raised from scratch here on the Isle of Wight.
