🌿 Chrysanthemum ‘Nantyberry Sunshine’

Bright, bold, and full of cheer, Chrysanthemum ‘Nantyberry Sunshine’ delivers a vibrant splash of golden yellow blooms just when many gardens are starting to fade. Flowering in late summer and well into autumn, this hardy perennial is perfect for extending colour deep into the season—and it makes an excellent, long-lasting cut flower too.

Its upright habit and sturdy stems make it reliable in borders, raised beds, and containers alike, and it returns year after year with minimal fuss.

Specifications:
Height: 50–60cm
Spread: 40–50cm
Flowering: August to October
Position: Full sun
Soil: Moist, well-drained, fertile soil
Maintenance: Deadhead spent flowers to prolong bloom; cut back after flowering and mulch in colder gardens for winter protection

🌿 Note for Isle of Wight planting:
Well suited to the island’s long, mild autumns. Plant in a sunny, sheltered spot to make the most of its late-season display. Excellent for extending colour in cottage-style or coastal gardens.

🌿 Ideal Companion Plants from The Green Standard Range:
Salvia ‘Phyllis Fancy’ – Elegant contrast with soft blue-lavender spires
Achillea millefolium ‘Paprika’ – Warm-toned harmony and pollinator value
Sedum ‘Autumn Joy’ – Autumn blooming partner that supports late insects
Verbena bonariensis – Adds vertical movement and ethereal structure
Geranium ‘Rozanne’ – A sprawling base of cool-toned blooms to balance the yellow

🌟 The Green Standard Tip:
For bushier plants and more blooms, pinch back growing tips in early summer. Chrysanthemums like good light and airflow, so avoid overcrowding and water at the base to prevent mildew. A great plant to bridge summer into autumn.
