Achillea 'Inca Gold'

A vibrant yarrow with rich golden-yellow flower heads that bring warmth and colour to the summer border.

Achillea 'Inca Gold' produces large, flattened clusters of glowing golden-yellow flowers held above finely divided, aromatic grey-green foliage. The blooms appear over a long period through summer and are highly attractive to bees, butterflies and other pollinating insects. As the flowers mature, they develop softer honey and amber tones, extending their ornamental appeal.

Thriving in full sun and well-drained soil, this tough and reliable perennial is drought tolerant once established and well suited to prairie-style, cottage garden and wildlife-friendly planting schemes. Its strong upright habit and long flowering season make it an invaluable addition to sunny borders.

Ideal Companion Plants from The Green Standard Range

  • Salvia 'Royal Bumble' – rich crimson flowers create a dramatic contrast with the golden blooms

  • Agastache 'Apache Sunset' – warm orange flower spikes enhance the glowing colour palette

  • Verbena bonariensis – airy purple flowers add height and movement above the achillea

  • Stipa tenuissima – soft flowing grass that complements the flat flower heads

  • Eryngium planum 'Fluela' – steel-blue flowers provide striking colour contrast

  • Gaura 'The Bride' – delicate white flowers lighten the planting and extend seasonal interest

 The Green Standard Tip

For the strongest display, plant Achillea 'Inca Gold' where it receives sun for most of the day. Regular deadheading will keep fresh flower heads coming and prolong the show well into late summer.
