Astilbe 'Milk and Honey'
A graceful astilbe with elegant plumes that open creamy white before developing soft blush-pink tones.
Astilbe 'Milk and Honey' produces airy, feathery flower plumes held above attractive deep green foliage in mid to late summer. The flowers emerge creamy white and gradually take on delicate pink hues as they mature, creating a long period of interest. The soft, cloud-like blooms brighten shadier areas of the garden and are highly attractive to pollinating insects.
Thriving in moisture-retentive soil, this reliable perennial is perfect for borders, woodland gardens and areas that receive partial shade. It forms neat clumps that gradually increase in size over time, bringing texture and colour to places where many sun-loving perennials struggle.

Ideal Companion Plants from The Green Standard Range
Hosta 'Sum and Substance' – bold foliage provides a dramatic contrast to the delicate plumes
Geranium 'Rozanne' – long-flowering blue blooms weave through the planting
Dicentra alba – elegant white flowers complement the creamy plumes
Brunnera – attractive foliage and spring flowers provide interest before the astilbe blooms
Pulmonaria – early-season colour and beautifully spotted foliage
Anemone 'Honorine Jobert' – extends the display into late summer and autumn with elegant white flowers
🌟 The Green Standard Tip
Astilbes dislike drying out. Applying a generous mulch in spring helps retain moisture and encourages stronger growth and larger flower plumes throughout the summer.
