Dianthus ‘Newport Pink’
A charming cottage garden perennial with soft pink flowers and a lovely clove-like fragrance.
Dianthus ‘Newport Pink’ produces masses of delicate, lightly fringed pink blooms held above neat cushions of grey-green foliage. The flowers are beautifully scented and loved by bees, bringing colour and fragrance to sunny borders from late spring into early summer. Its compact habit makes it ideal for edging paths, planting in gravel gardens, or adding colour to the front of borders.
This hardy perennial thrives in full sun and well-drained soil, particularly in lighter or gravelly ground where the crown stays dry. Forming tidy mounds of evergreen foliage, it works beautifully in cottage gardens, coastal planting, and containers where it can enjoy plenty of sunshine.

🌿 Ideal Companion Plants from The Green Standard Range:
Erigeron karvinskianus, airy daisies that soften the edges of borders
Achillea ‘Terracotta’, warm sunset tones that complement the pink flowers
Erysimum ‘Winter Orchid’, long-flowering wallflower that enjoys similar sunny conditions
Nepeta ‘Six Hills Giant’, soft lavender-blue flowers loved by pollinators
🌟 The Green Standard Tip:
Lightly trim plants after flowering to keep them compact and encourage fresh growth. Dianthus dislike heavy wet soil, so good drainage is key.
