Erysimum ‘Plantworld Rainbows’
A kaleidoscope of perennial wallflowers from a unique breeding line.
Erysimum ‘Plantworld Rainbows’ brings colour, fragrance and long-lasting charm to the border. These hybrids sparkle in every shade imaginable, from soft pastels to vibrant jewel tones, and are loved by bees and butterflies alike. Their neat spires of blooms appear in succession over many months, ensuring your garden has a reliable splash of brightness.
Originally created from a cross between the ever-popular ‘Bowles Mauve’, E. linifolium, E. scoparius and dwarf wallflowers, these plants have inherited excellent garden performance. They thrive in free-draining soil, cope well with dry conditions once established, and make ideal partners for other sun-loving perennials. Compact and bushy, they are perfect for both borders and containers, rewarding you with generous flowering displays.

🌿 Note for Isle of Wight planting
Island gardens suit Erysimum ‘Plantworld Rainbows’ perfectly, as they are drought-tolerant and thrive in coastal conditions. With our milder winters, they often remain evergreen and continue to flower through the cooler months, providing reliable colour even when little else is blooming.
🌿 Ideal Companion Plants from The Green Standard Range
Salvia ‘Blue Note’ – deep violet flowers for a striking contrast
Nepeta ‘Walker’s Low’ – soft, scented blue haze to soften borders
Achillea millefolium – flat, nectar-rich umbels to draw in pollinators
Gaura lindheimeri – airy white and pink flowers dancing above the border
🌟 The Green Standard Tip
Deadhead regularly and trim back lightly after flowering to encourage repeat blooms and keep your plants neat and bushy for years to come.
