Erysimum ‘Tangerine Titan’
A dazzling wallflower that brings an explosion of colour to early borders and containers.
Erysimum ‘Tangerine Titan’ produces masses of glowing orange and apricot blooms that deepen in tone as they age, creating a beautiful ombré effect across the plant. These richly scented flowers are a magnet for bees and butterflies, providing valuable nectar early in the season when few other plants are in bloom.
This perennial wallflower thrives in full sun and well-drained soil, flowering generously from spring through summer and often well into autumn. Compact yet bushy in habit, it’s perfect for mixed borders, pots, and gravel gardens where it can bask in the warmth it loves.
Specifications:

Soil: Well-drained, light to moderately fertile soil
Height: Approx. 40–50 cm
Spread: Approx. 40 cm

🌿 Note for Isle of Wight planting:
‘Tangerine Titan’ thrives in the Island’s mild coastal climate, where its long flowering season really shines. It’s ideal for brightening up south-facing beds or dry banks and copes beautifully with the breezy, free-draining conditions that can challenge fussier plants.
🌿 Ideal Companion Plants from The Green Standard Range:
Salvia ‘Bordeaux’ – deep purple flowers make a stunning contrast with the orange tones
Nepeta ‘Six Hills Giant’ – soft blue haze that complements and cools the palette
Erigeron karvinskianus – dainty daisies that fill gaps and spill prettily at the front of borders
Achillea ‘Terracotta’ – matching warm tones for a glowing summer display
🌟 The Green Standard Tip:
Deadhead regularly to prolong flowering and keep the plant compact. Give it a light trim in late summer to encourage fresh growth and a second flush of blooms.
