Forget-me-not (Myosotis sylvatica)
A charming spring favourite that carpets borders with clouds of delicate blue flowers.
Forget-me-nots produce masses of tiny sky-blue flowers with bright yellow centres, creating a soft haze of colour through spring. Their cheerful blooms are loved by early bees and pollinators, making them a valuable plant for wildlife-friendly gardens. When planted in drifts they create that classic cottage garden look, weaving naturally through borders and softening the base of taller perennials.
This easy, low-growing plant thrives in sun or partial shade and prefers moist but well-drained soil. Forget-me-nots grow quickly and will gently self-seed, filling gaps in borders and naturalising around the garden without becoming troublesome. They are perfect for underplanting taller plants, bringing early colour before many summer perennials begin to flower.
