Geum ‘Fireball’
A fiery, long-flowering perennial that adds vibrant colour and movement to borders.
Geum ‘Fireball’ produces bright, semi-double scarlet-orange blooms held on slender stems above neat clumps of fresh green foliage. The flowers seem to hover above the plant, creating a lively display from late spring into early summer. Bees and other pollinators love the open blooms, making it a valuable addition to wildlife-friendly gardens.
This hardy perennial forms tidy clumps that fit beautifully into mixed borders, cottage gardens, or informal planting schemes. It thrives in full sun or light shade with reasonably moist, well-drained soil. Once established it is reliable and easy to grow, gradually forming larger clumps that can be divided every few years to keep plants vigorous.

🌿 Note for Isle of Wight planting:
Geums perform particularly well in Isle of Wight gardens where the mild climate allows them to flower generously in spring. They are perfect for softening the front of borders or brightening slightly shadier spots, especially where soil retains a little moisture.
🌿 Ideal Companion Plants from The Green Standard Range:
Salvia sclarea ‘Alba’ – airy white spires that balance the fiery flowers
Nepeta ‘Six Hills Giant’ – soft lavender-blue haze loved by pollinators
Achillea ‘Terracotta’ – warm sunset tones that blend beautifully
Erigeron karvinskianus – delicate daisies to soften the edges of borders
🌟 The Green Standard Tip:
Cut back spent flower stems after the first flush to encourage a second round of blooms and keep the plant looking fresh throughout the season.
