Wall Rocket (Diplotaxis tenuifolia)
A hardy, perennial rocket with a stronger, peppery flavour than annual salad rocket.
Wall rocket produces deeply cut dark green leaves with a distinctive spicy flavour that adds real punch to salads, sandwiches, and cooking. Small yellow flowers appear through summer and are also edible, attracting bees and other pollinators to the garden. Unlike annual rocket, this variety will continue producing leaves for a long season.
This easy perennial thrives in full sun and well-drained soil, forming clumps that can be harvested repeatedly. It grows well in vegetable beds, herb gardens, containers, or even tucked into sunny borders where it can be picked regularly.

🌿 Note for Isle of Wight planting:
Wall rocket grows particularly well in Isle of Wight gardens where mild conditions allow plants to crop for a long season. It can often continue producing leaves well into autumn and may even overwinter in sheltered spots.
🌟 The Green Standard Tip:
Harvest leaves regularly to keep plants producing fresh growth. If plants begin to flower heavily, trim them back to encourage new tender leaves.
