Pulmonaria ‘Raspberry’

A standout lungwort with vibrant blooms and striking foliage.

Pulmonaria ‘Raspberry’ is one of the most colourful Pulmonarias, its clusters of bright raspberry-pink flowers held above silvery-splashed leaves from early spring. The flowers often age through shades of purple, giving a lively two-tone effect that bees flock to when nectar is scarce. The foliage remains handsome throughout the year, adding sparkle and texture even after flowering finishes.

This perennial is ideal for partial to full shade, especially in humus-rich, moist but well-drained soils. It forms a tidy clump and makes superb groundcover, brightening difficult spots beneath trees, at the edge of borders, or in mixed shady plantings. Hardy, easy, and reliable, it’s one of the best modern Pulmonarias for impact and longevity.

🌿 Note for Isle of Wight planting

🌿 Ideal Companion Plants from The Green Standard Range

  • Epimedium x warleyense ‘Orangekönigin’ – adds warm orange tones for spring contrast

  • Lamium ‘White Nancy’ – bright groundcover with silvery leaves

  • Ajuga ‘Burgundy Glow’ – colourful foliage and purple-blue flowers

  • Hosta varieties – bold foliage foils Pulmonaria’s patterned leaves

🌟 The Green Standard Tip

Cut back old or tatty leaves after flowering to encourage a flush of fresh new growth, keeping clumps neat and healthy for the rest of the season.
