Salvia ‘Chalk White’
A graceful perennial salvia with elegant white flower spikes that bring light and movement to summer borders.
Salvia ‘Chalk White’ produces slender spikes of pure white flowers held above aromatic grey-green foliage. The blooms appear steadily through summer, creating a soft, airy display that brightens planting schemes and attracts bees and other pollinators. Its clean white colouring makes it an excellent partner for stronger flower colours while adding a sense of freshness to the border.
This hardy perennial thrives in full sun and well-drained soil, forming a bushy clump that returns reliably each year. Once established it is drought tolerant and easy to grow, making it ideal for sunny borders, wildlife gardens, and coastal planting where it can flower for months.

Note for Isle of Wight planting:
Salvias thrive in Isle of Wight gardens where sunny conditions and free-draining soils suit them well. ‘Chalk White’ is particularly useful for brightening borders and works beautifully in coastal gardens where it can enjoy plenty of sunshine.
Ideal Companion Plants from The Green Standard Range:
Salvia ‘Royal Velour’, deep burgundy flowers that contrast beautifully with the white blooms
Salvia hians, bold violet-blue flowers that add depth and structure
Achillea ‘Terracotta’, warm sunset tones that create a soft cottage garden palette
Erigeron karvinskianus, airy daisies that soften the edges of borders
🌟 The Green Standard Tip:
Cut back faded flower spikes through the season to encourage fresh blooms and keep plants flowering right into early autumn.
